I build hardware that has to work when someone's life depends on it.

The work

I'm a hardware R&D and product development engineer. In 2021 I founded Glomensio and became the sole inventor of the Firefly: an illuminated house number that lets first responders find a home in the dark, and signals them when there's an emergency inside.

I took it from concept to production across mechanical, electrical and software: enclosure and optics in SolidWorks, structural and thermal FEA, injection-mold tooling, firmware behaviour, and the FCC, UL, ETL, PSE and Telec compliance path. It's now in homes across 18 states and three countries.

Policy

Many HOAs ban the very thing that helps an ambulance find a house. I worked with the Arizona Legislature on a bill that stops HOAs from prohibiting illuminated emergency house numbers.

  • 2025SB1535 passed the Arizona Senate 24–5–1 and reached the House floor. Along the way the Arizona Homeowners Coalition reversed its opposition and endorsed it.
  • 2026SB1083, its successor, passed the Senate 29–0 on 12 February 2026; every senator who voted no in 2025 voted yes. It goes to the House Government Committee next session.

Background

I came to the US in 2012 to study mechanical engineering at Arizona State University (BSME 2017, with an economics minor), then worked in industry on hardware that ships. I went back to ASU in 2020 for graduate work at the intersection of mechanical engineering and neuroscience, and left to build Glomensio full-time.
